Baby sleep is a little mystery: sometimes heavenly peaceful, sometimes full of interruptions , but always crucial for development and well-being.
Learn here how your baby can more easily fall into a sleep rhythm and you, as a parent, can become more relaxed. But how do you ensure that babies sleep safely and soundly? Michaela Schicho, expert from MARY by sticklett and mother of two, reveals the most important tips.
A safe environment is the basis for good baby sleep:
Own bed in the parents' bedroom (side bed or crib)
Firm, breathable mattress
Room temperature 16–20 °C
No loose blankets, pillows, or cuddly toys
Sleeping on your back is the safest sleeping position

Babies sleep differently than adults. Developmental milestones, growth spurts, or so-called sleep regressions can cause your baby to wake up more frequently. Important: This is completely normal and will pass. Establishing a consistent routine will help your baby get back into a regular rhythm .
Regular sleep schedules provide security
Fixed rituals signal calmness (e.g. putting on a bodysuit, attaching a MARY bag, singing a goodnight song)
Sufficient waking periods during the day stabilize the rhythm.
Quiet surroundings, little light and noise at night
A simple process that works:
Put on the appropriate clothing
Attach MARY to clothing
Play a soothing lullaby
Dim the lights, put your phone away
Put the baby to bed when they are tired but awake.
This is how your baby will recognize, step by step: It's bedtime. And with MARY, you can keep an eye on their vital signs – without having to constantly disturb your child.
