Frequently Asked Questions about MARY by sticklett
The Marienkäfer Sensor continuously monitors your baby’s vital signs and transmits the data in real time to the MARY by sticklett app. There, you can view the history and, if you wish, receive notifications.
Put on clothes, attach the ladybird, start the app - security is activated.
MARY is suitable for babies and toddlers from birth up to about 10 years of age – i.e. until the immune system is fully developed.
MARY has been intentionally designed as a system consisting of a sensor and well-fitting clothing.
Our experience shows that reliable measurements can only be obtained if the sensor is positioned firmly close to the body.
No.
For the very youngest children aged 0-2 years, we offer wrap-around bodysuits and wrap-around pajamas in which the ladybird can be discreetly hidden without arousing the baby's curiosity.
We have developed a child-friendly story for children aged 2 and over. The story is included as a small picture book in the delivery of MARY by sticklett (also as an audio book version). This way, MARY can be explained in a loving way during the bedtime ritual when the ladybird comes onto the pajamas.
In our tests, 95% of all children were excited to have Mary look after them and wanted to voluntarily attach her to their clothing instead of removing it.
No.
The beetle holds firmly to the garment.
No.
All you need is a smartphone with an internet connection.
No - the ladybug contains medically certified sensors.
The ladybug sends data via Bluetooth Low Energy (Class 3 - a low-radiation and medically accepted technology) to the transmitter/receiver station, which then communicates with the smartphone via a secure mobile internet connection - no matter where you are.
MARY has been carefully examined and tested and classified as safe for health. The radiation emitted by the ladybug is much lower than that of conventional Wi-Fi cameras and baby monitors.
MARY does not prevent or avert SIDS, but it can help to more consciously support the recommended measures for safe baby sleep in everyday life.
MARY helps to better classify changes by making patterns of breathing, movement, sleeping position and temperature visible.
The fever thermometer measures the individual value.
MARY shows the progress and helps to keep the overall picture in view.
You can see whether the temperature remains stable, rises, or falls. This is especially helpful at night.
It is also easier to classify temperature fluctuations and to decide more calmly whether further observation is sufficient or whether a check with a thermometer is advisable.
MARY is not a classic baby monitor with sound or camera, but it can do more in many everyday situations.
However, by detecting movement and rest phases, MARY can indicate whether a child is sleeping or waking up and inform parents accordingly.
Many families therefore use MARY by sticklett as a quiet alternative or supplement to the baby monitor: without noise, without a screen, but with an overview of the progress in the app.
